Fine Print · Accessibility
We believe everyone should have equal access to information about Nashville's Super Bowl economy. Our platform is built with accessibility at its core.
Field Notes
Nashville Big Game Business Ecosystem is committed to ensuring that our website, nflsuperbowlnashville.com, is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility and provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
We view digital accessibility not merely as a legal obligation but as a fundamental principle of good design and inclusive communication. Our business intelligence platform serves a diverse community of Nashville business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, hospitality professionals, and community members. Every one of these stakeholders deserves equal access to the research, data, and market insights we publish. We have invested in accessible design practices, conduct regular audits, and maintain an ongoing commitment to improving the accessibility of our Site.
Our accessibility efforts are guided by the four core principles of WCAG: Perceivable — information and interface components must be presentable in ways users can perceive; Operable — interface components and navigation must be operable by all users; Understandable — information and operation of the interface must be understandable; and Robust — content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
The Desk
Our Site is designed to work with popular screen readers including JAWS (Job Access With Speech), NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access), VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android). We use proper ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels, roles, and properties to provide meaningful context to screen reader users. All interactive elements include descriptive labels, and we ensure logical reading order throughout our pages. Images include descriptive alternative text, and decorative images are properly hidden from assistive technology using empty alt attributes or aria-hidden roles.
All interactive elements on our Site are fully accessible via keyboard. Users can navigate through all links, buttons, form fields, and interactive components using the Tab key. We maintain visible focus indicators on all focusable elements so keyboard users can always see their current position on the page. Skip navigation links are provided to allow users to bypass repetitive content and jump directly to the main content area. The Escape key can be used to close modal dialogs and dropdown menus, and Enter or Space keys activate buttons and links.
Our Site is compatible with voice control software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Speech Recognition, macOS Voice Control, and mobile voice assistants. All interactive elements have accessible names that can be spoken to activate them, and our consistent navigation structure supports voice command patterns for browsing and content interaction.
The Desk
All meaningful images on our Site include descriptive alternative text (alt text) that conveys the purpose and content of each image. Data visualizations, charts, and infographics include comprehensive text descriptions that communicate the same information presented visually. Decorative images that do not convey meaningful information are appropriately hidden from assistive technologies.
We use semantic HTML5 elements throughout our Site to provide proper document structure and meaning. This includes appropriate use of headings (h1 through h6) in hierarchical order, landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer), lists, tables with proper headers, and other structural elements. This semantic structure enables assistive technologies to accurately interpret and present our content, and allows users to navigate efficiently using heading lists and landmark navigation.
Our color palette has been carefully selected to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements. Body text maintains a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against its background, and large text (18pt or 14pt bold) maintains a minimum ratio of 3:1. We do not rely solely on color to convey information; all color-coded elements include additional visual indicators such as text labels, patterns, or icons. Our gold accent color (#D4A843) against the navy background (#0A1628) provides high visual contrast while maintaining our brand identity.
All text on our Site can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. We use relative units (rem and em) for font sizes rather than fixed pixel values, allowing text to scale according to user preferences and browser settings. Our responsive design ensures that content reflows properly at all zoom levels and screen sizes, from mobile devices to large desktop displays. Horizontal scrolling is avoided at all standard zoom levels to ensure comfortable reading across all devices.
We respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" media query. Users who have indicated a preference for reduced motion in their operating system settings will see simplified or eliminated animations. Our scroll-based reveal animations are designed to be subtle and non-disruptive, and essential content is fully accessible without any animation effects.

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, we acknowledge certain known limitations that we are actively working to address:
Embedded Third-Party Content: Some third-party embedded content, including certain social media widgets, embedded maps, and external analytics dashboards, may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are working with these vendors to improve accessibility and provide accessible alternatives where possible.
Legacy PDF Documents: Some older PDF documents available for download may not be fully accessible. We are in the process of remediating these documents and converting them to accessible HTML formats. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us and we will provide one promptly.
Complex Data Visualizations: Some interactive charts and data visualizations may present challenges for users of certain assistive technologies. We provide text-based summaries and data tables as alternatives for all complex visual content.
Live and Dynamic Content: Some dynamically loaded content and real-time updates may not immediately announce changes to screen readers. We use ARIA live regions where appropriate and are continually improving our approach to dynamic content accessibility.
